A servant leader with a heart for God, people, justice, and the church.
Pastor John E. Morse, Jr. was raised in Savannah, Georgia. He attended Georgia State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and later received his Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University School of Law in June 1982.
His professional journey includes service as a law clerk, Assistant District Attorney for Chatham County, lead attorney in the State Drug Prosecution Office for the Southeast Region of Georgia, and State Court Judge in Chatham County.
In October 1989, Pastor Morse accepted his call into the ministry at St. Philip Monumental A.M.E. Church. He has been ordained to preach the gospel since 1991 and has served as pastor of Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church in Hinesville, Georgia since 2003.
Evangelist Debbie L. Morse
A worship leader, encourager, and servant with a heart for women, youth, and the presence of God.
Evangelist Debbie L. Morse was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. From an early age, she served through music and later became musician for youth and gospel choirs.
After graduating from Georgia State University, she relocated to Savannah in 1983. She has served in music ministry, praise and worship leadership, women’s ministry, youth encouragement, and evangelistic ministry.
Lovingly known as “Rev. Debbie,” she serves Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church as Minister of Music, Praise and Worship Leader, and a member of the ministerial staff.
